The water was so calm and the place was empty. We had the whole beach to ourselves to explore. A blue heron was in the water trying to catch his afternoon snack. We were all sitting on a log, watching the endless view of the mountains and the water. It was pretty nice.
On our way home, we stopped at the market to pick up some vegetables for dinner. At the entrance, there was something that made me smile. The Laughing Buddha and the bright orange Chinese/Japanese Lantern. They were just so perfect together!
Looks let you three had a grand day off. How beautiful is that picture of the beach, bringing back fond memories.

i love these photos - Herons always make me think of an old friend and the laughing buddha is something i think we could all use in our gardens!...
ReplyDeletei had read your story about bear the other day and meant to send a note as i know that song by a different chorus - i have been trying to remember how it starts but it just is not coming to me...but since then i have had it STUCK IN MY HEAD...(thx!) - we have a few bears hanging around here these days - lots of 'applesauce' around the property so ya gotta watch yer step (not that its hard to see..)
its interesting about the smart meters - i have heard lots about the controversy - but did not realize they could just come and install one without your knowledge/permission. very 'big brother' indeed.
we still just have the meter maid that comes round and sneaks round back the house - i don't know...she seems pretty smart to me...why replace her? :)
